A day of downtime (EK A&S)

Yesterday, I had a wonderful time at the EK A&S championship. I quite enjoyed working gate, observing all the beautiful art and science on display, connecting with fellow Scadians, and not performing at all.

(Not that I don’t enjoy performing. I still very much do. Looking forward to it in 2 weeks, at the EK Bardic Championship where I will compete for the first time. But it was lovely to be part of an event in a different space and not feel any need to be “on”. I’d go so far as to speculate that others might have found that refreshing as well.) 🙂

Studio Day: “Tam Lin of the Elves”

Dave and Arden will be here today, to lay down tracks for “Tam Lin of the Elves”. It’s my longest piece at over 6 minutes, so we will probably finish it (and “Plantagenet”) during next month’s session. Wee bit psyched.

Milestone: Finding my teacher

This news is a few weeks old, but I’ve been busy.  Still, it deserves its own post.  I am very excited.

Maistre Lucien de Pontivy, current Queen’s Bard of the East Kingdom and recently elevated to the Order of the Laurel, has taken me as a student of the Bardic Arts.
