We have arrived at the cat herding stage of the album project. I’m maintaining a Google sheet of EVERYTHING that is left to do in terms of production, including the album cover. And tracking all the dependencies that require commitments from other people.
I’m striving to get just about all the outstanding material from everyone by the end of October. Once we get into the holidays, I know it’ll become practically impossible to get anything from people before the end of the year, which is my target to finish production.
This means I have to spend several hours a week politely checking in with people and trying to get a response from them when they can think about what I’m asking for. Let’s set a deadline (pretty much everyone agreed to these deliverables months ago, but this is my project and my priority, so most of them need a deadline to focus on this).
It’s what I have to do if I want this thing finished. And it’s not exactly doing wonders for my “no one really wants to interact with me” brain weasels.
And this is what it takes. Breathe. Just breathe.
